Nomination Criteria:
In reviewing the nominations, the judges will consider the contributions and achievements in regards to:
Raising awareness of diversity, multiculturalism and anti-racism issues
Promoting respect and inclusion
Creating a welcoming environment
Donating the award money to further advance multiculturalism in British Columbia

Award Money:
Award money is not intended for individual gain. Nominees will be asked to identify a not-for-profit organization to receive a cheque for $5,000 to be used for the further advancement of multiculturalism in B.C. The selected organization must agree to accept the award and must be registered and active in British Columbia. An award recipient in the organization or business category may designate their organization as the award recipient, as long as they meet the qualifications. Award recipients in the category of Multicultural Excellence in Government will be honoured with a trophy and a Certificate of Recognition. No money will be awarded in the Government category. A nominee cannot be nominated in more than one category in any one year. The nominee or representative agrees to the use of applicant information and/or being interviewed or photographed for publicity purposes.
Judging:
An independent selection panel with expertise in multiculturalism and anti-racism will follow assessment guidelines to evaluate all the nominees. The process of evaluating nominees and selecting recipients is at the discretion of the independent selection panel. The selection panel has the option of not making an award in all categories. In reviewing the nominations, the judges will consider the contributions and achievements in the following areas: • Raising awareness of diversity, multiculturalism and anti-racism issues • Promoting respect and inclusion • Creating a welcoming environment • Donating the award money to further advance multiculturalism in British Columbia
