- I understand that, under the Income Tax Act, the Ministry of Education and Child Care must issue scholarship recipients a T4A for the taxation year in which their scholarship cheque is issued. When redeeming a scholarship, recipients will need to provide a Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN) for this purpose. Payments cannot be made to students with temporary SINs (beginning with ‘9’).

- I want to be considered for the BC Excellence scholarship;
- to be considered, my application must be submitted complete, on time, and in the mandatory format;
- all information I have provided in this application is complete and accurate;
- the written statement is an original essay written solely by me;
- withholding relevant data or providing false or misleading data in this application or otherwise in support of this application shall be grounds for the Government of British Columbia to revoke my eligibility for this scholarship;
- the Ministry of Education and Child Care may access my student records to verify school, citizenship/residency, transcript, and graduation information;
- all information provided in this application is subject to verification;
- application material will not be returned to me;
- the Ministry of Education and Child Care may inform my school if I am selected as a conditional recipient; and,
- if I am selected as a conditional recipient, I must meet core and scholarship-specific eligibility requirements by August 31, 2025, to receive the scholarship.
