Youth Work in Trades (WRK) Scholarship Application

Collection of Personal Information

To process Youth Work in Trades Scholarships, students’ personal information will be collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Section 26(c). Students’ personal information is used for the purpose of verifying eligibility, selecting successful candidates, and processing the scholarship payment.

Reminders before you begin

  • Prepare all required information offline; you will not be able to save your work here
    • Once you begin filling out this online application, be prepared to complete it in one session
    • While this form does allow you to toggle between pages during a single session, once you close the browser or after 20 minutes of inactivity, the session will end

Your SkilledTradesBC Information

Did you register with SkilledTradesBC as a Youth Apprentice starting on or after July 1, 2024?(Required)
This WRK Scholarship application is only for students who registered with SkilledTradesBC on or after July 1, 2024. Students who registered before July 1, 2024 do not need to apply; they will receive the award automatically.
STOP! You do not need to apply for the WRK Scholarship if you registered with SkilledTradesBC as a WRK student before July 1, 2024.

SkilledTradesBC Apprenticeship Hours

Have you completed a minimum of 900 work training hours as part of the Youth Work in Trades program, as required for the Youth Work in Trades Scholarship?(Required)
You can find your SkilledTradesBC registration number, date of registration, and work-based training hours on your SkilledTradesBC transcript.

If you are unsure about your registration number, apprenticeship status, work-based training hours, or related information, you can find the information on the SkilledTradesBC Portal.
If you do not have 900 work training hours and are under 19 years old on or after July 1 of the school year you apply, you can apply next fall. If you have questions about your work-based hours, contact SkilledTradesBC.

This is the 9-digit number assigned to you by the Ministry of Education and Child Care (e.g., 123456789). You can find it on your high school report cards, your high school transcript, or through PEN Services.

Note: Your PEN is different from the student number your post- secondary trainer may have assigned you if you have already registered for further training.
