The British Columbia Honours and Awards Secretariat is pleased to introduce you to our online nomination process.
Instead of submitting your hard copy nominations, we want to encourage you to use our online nomination template. This web tool is easy to use and allows you to securely submit data online.
You can fill out our online nomination template in no time from virtually anywhere - your home, your work or any public computer. Test it out. If it's not for you, you can still send in your nomination forms by mail.
We are currently experiencing technical issues with the online nomination form in Internet Explorer. We recommend using Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari to fill out the form.
Time Limit
There is no time limit on how long you can take to fill out a nomination on-line, however if you navigate away from the page your information will not be retained.
To make the process easier for you, we suggest you prepare your supporting documents, such as testimonial letters and achievement descriptions, in advance.

The Honours and Awards Secretariat is indirectly collecting Indigenous and racial identity information about potential nominees from nominators under the authority of section 2 of the Anti-Racism Data Act and s. 26 (c) and 27(1)(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. This information will be combined with other information about potential nominees to gather important insights into the diversity of nominations received and advance racial equity in honours and awards. This indirect collection of information is in accordance with Section 3(3) of ARDA and the combined information will be used in accordance with Section 4 of ARDA. It also collects information under the authority of s. 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and s. 17 of the Provincial Symbols and Honours Act, to evaluate eligibility and notify recipients of the Order of British Columbia. Any resident of British Columbia, or former long-term resident, who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, excellence or distinction in any field of endeavour benefiting the people of the Province or elsewhere is eligible for appointment to the Order.
When preparing to submit your nomination consider the following:
- Think of an eligible candidate and tell us why they deserve to be appointed to the Order of British Columbia.
- Prepare examples of how they have demonstrated outstanding qualities.
- Gather your candidate's contact information and supporting documentation (if available).
- Gather the names and contact information of two references familiar with your candidate's accomplishments. The letters must be signed by the testimonial writer and include his/her contact information (address, telephone number and email). An electronic signature or scanned copy of the signed letters will be accepted.

Nomination Guidelines
The completed signed nomination form, two signed testimonials and any supporting materials must be submitted as one package. If more than one nomination is submitted for the same nominee, only the first nomination received will be considered. Please contact the Honours and Awards Secretariat for alternate submission options if required.
