Planning for Regional Recovery & Disaster Resilience in the Metro Vancouver region: The Role of the Economic Sector

    The workshop will consist of presentations, discussions and activities.

    Proposed Objectives:

    1. Examine the relationship between Business Continuity and Recovery to support economic resilience in a post-disaster context within the Metro Vancouver region.
    2. Identify linkages between Business Continuity and Economic Development to understand local, regional, and provincial priorities and key issues post-disaster.
    3. Define roles, responsibilities and relationships between Emergency Management, Business Continuity and Economic Development to inform recovery planning.
    4. Provide a collaborative forum for professionals from business continuity, economic development, emergency management and others to establish relationships and discuss sector specific networks.
